Changing Default Applications for Certain File Types

How to get Windows to select the correct application to use when opening certain file types

1. Go to Windows Settings
2. Click Apps
3. Select “Default Apps” and then select “Choose default apps by file type”
4. Scroll down to the file type in question (.pdf for example), then click on the current program being used OR the “choose a default” option if there is no current default.
5. The choose the app you want to be the default
6. Navigate to a file of the file type you just changed the default for and click it. It should open with the desired application now.
